This is an introductory course that will analyze playscripts from different genres, cultures and historical periods. Students will learn to conduct dramaturgical research that enriches the transformation of text into live performance. By thinking critically and contextually about these texts, students will learn how actors, designers, directors and dramaturgs integrate intellectual investigating into the creative process. The course is open to majors and non majors at all levels of experience.
