Third-Year Japanese I|
The primary goal of this course is to enable students to acquire Japanese language proficiency through integrating four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Lesson 6 - Lesson 9 from the textbook Tobira cover different topics, including religion, pop culture, traditional performing arts, and education in Japan. The class meets three hours per week.

There are frequent homework assignments, which include grammar, Kanji and vocabulary exercises, reading comprehension, essay writing, and conversation project. In addition to weekly quizzes, both lesson tests and a final examination are given.

Attendance and active participation in every class and at least 5 hours of Japanese language table are required. Students who have not completed JAPN206 at Wesleyan are required to take a placement test.
