Ecology of Perception

This course is an interdisciplinary fusion of visual studies and environmental philosophy, and offers an introduction to ecological thinking and concepts of sustainable living. Beginning with a reading of Descartes - an architect of the modern world - we explore the basic philosophical problems involved with understanding perception, media, concepts of mind, concluding with architectural theory and approaches to eco-design and post-industrial aesthetics.
