Italian Art of the 16th Century

Beginning with the High Renaissance in Rome, this course will study the transformation of Renaissance ideals in the work of the mannerists and the anti-Mannerists and the arts of Venice. The role of the Reformation in determining the art forms of Italy will also be considered, as well as Italian influences in the arts of the transalpine countries.
