ARST 432
Spring 2016
| Section:
01
|
This course may be repeated for credit. |
This class builds upon the course content covered in Drawing I (ARST131). As we continue to draw from observation, topics will include an in-depth exploration of the human figure and an introduction to color. This course also introduces a concept-based approach to drawing that explores narrative and content. While using brainstorming and ideation techniques, we will experiment with various marking systems, found imagery, processes, and spatial solutions. Further, the development of individual style and studio methodology is an aim in this course. |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments: This class builds upon the course content covered in Drawing 1 (ARST 131). As we continue to draw from observation, topics will include continuation of the study of the human figure, and an introduction to color. POI portfolio review/interviews for Drawing 2 will take place on the first day of classes: Thursday, January 21, from 4-7 p.m., in Art Workshops 108 (adjacent to the drawing studio). Interviews will take place in the order that you arrive. Please bring a portfolio of 10 drawings from Drawing 1; actual drawings are preferred over digital documentation, but I will look at jpegs if necessary. A variety of drawing is best. Feel free to bring (limited) examples of other relevant creative work done in the last 2 years. |
