This course is a second-level architecture studio whose focus will be a single, intensive research and design project. As the semester progresses, additional design, representation, and production tools will be introduced and used for developing work for the project, from graphics software to the laser cutter. Major Readings: Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore
Readings relevant to topics explored in the semester project will be assigned. In addition, a sequence of theoretical texts on architecture will be introduced in order to familiarize students with the complexity of issues which have driven historical architectural debate on issues related to the semester project.

Examinations and Assignments: Assignments include both individual and group work in areas of research, design, and presentation. Studio assignments are cumulative and form part of a single, semester-long project undertaken by the studio as a whole. Student work will be documented and formatted into a portfolio which must be submitted at the end of the semester. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: In addition to scheduled studio class time, there will be approximately 30 hours of scheduled fabrication/production laboratory time in the second half of the semester.
