The course begins with an overview of plant evolutionary history, then covers the basic structure and function of the plant body and the life-cycle and ecological diversity of plants in natural habitats. Special events include a field trip to the Smith College botanical garden, a Hands-On Day for working with living speciments, and a special guest lecture by a local plant biologist. |
