| Course Cluster and Certificates: Health Studies |
CHEM 142 is the second half of an introductory course in general chemistry intended for science majors and for pre-health studies. The second semester is mostly the quantitative application of concepts. Topics will include intermolecular forces, acids and bases, solutions and their properties, equilibria, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and modern materials. A strong familiarity with algebra is required. |

Examinations and Assignments:
Four one-hour exams, graded homework, plus a comprehensive final exam. Four exams will be administered in-person on Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on February 15th, March 8th, April 19th and May 10th. A comprehensive final exam will be administered during the final exam period. |
