This is an intermediate-level course. Strong emphasis on correct alignment and the development of dynamics and stylistic qualities will be prominent while students learn combinations.
Selected articles on ballet technique and history.
Examinations and Assignments:
Short papers on selected topics and films.
Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
Previous ballet dance training is required. Placement on the Ballet II level required by recommendation of ballet technique teacher the previous semester or evaluation in first class. Questions on placement: Professor Patricia Beaman (pbeaman@wesleyan.edu). Undergraduates may take this course up to two times for a letter grade and up to four times for credit towards graduation.
