This class will focus on the process of making a dance. Skills in organizing and leading rehearsals, creative decision making, and movement observation will be developed within the context of individual students honing their approach and style as choreographers. Practical and theoretical issues raised by the works in progress will frame in-class discussions, and all necessary technical aspects of producing the dances will be addressed. |

Examinations and Assignments:
Short written assignments, movement projects, planning and execution of two rehearsals each week throughout the semester, choreographing a complete dance, and active participation in four critique sessions and in the realization of the Winter Dance Concert at the end of the semester. |

Prerequisites: DANC249 AND DANC250
DANC105: Dance Production Techniques recommended. This course is not available to sophomores, first-year students, or non-majors. Please contact Professor Susan Lourie for permission to take this course. |
