Introduction to Environmental Science

Earth's natural systems have operated for billions of year but are now severely altered by human activity. Basic principles of atmospheric science, ecology, environmental chemistry, geosciences, and hydrology will be covered as they relate to topics such as pollution, climate change, and energy resources. Students will learn where to access and how to interpret scientific information related to environmental issues. Problem sets will be used to help you calculate complex problems with relatively simple methods (excel). This course is one of the gateway courses for the earth and environmental sciences major.
