Introductory Econometrics

This course is an introduction to econometric techniques widely used by economists. The weekly lab sections are required; labs explore issues relating to the nature and sources of economics data and introduce appropriate statistical computing tools. This class will meet three times each week: twice with an economics professor, and once with a Quantitative Analysis Center (QAC) instructor. |

Frequent problem sets, two midterm examinations, and a final examination |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Following a learning-by-doing approach, the course's lab sessions introduce students to statistical computing. Through a series of hands-on exercises, we learn to work with a variety of data formats and use the programming capabilities of our statistical analysis software (e.g. Stata) to effectively manage and analyze data.
