This course will focus on the writing of nonfiction and the forms of the English essay. Readings will be drawn from a range of genres, both nonfiction and fiction, including memoirs and profiles, historical and contemporary commentary, short stories and novels. |

Essential Capabilities:
Intercultural Literacy, Writing
The readings in this course have a cross-cultural focus; the students come from a wide variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The course focuses on developing the ability to write in a variety of non-fiction genres and emphasizes the editing and revision processes.

This course gives preference to students whose primary fluency is in languages other than English or who are fluent in more than one language; it is open to anyone interested in a course with a cross-cultural focus. |
