Poems by Crane, Reznikoff, Oppen, Moore, Bishop, Hughes, O'Hara, Schuyler, Baraka, Ginsberg, Guest. Historical study on the popular front, feminism, communism and anti-communism, gay liberation.

Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Some previous acquaintance with poetry or American history is presuppposed. Punctual and regular attendance. Willing and ready participation in classroom discussion. This course meets the English Department's Research Option requirement for senior thesis writers. |
