This workshop course is designed to provide a basic understanding of how films are made, including lessons on lighting, composition, continuity, sound, and editing. Through a series of exercises and in-class critique sessions, students will refine their critical and aesthetic sensibilities and develop a basic understanding of story structure and directing. Time demands are heavy and irregularly distributed. |

Course restricted to film majors. Permission of instructor required. Enrollment limited to 12.
This section provides technical training and practical experience in the 16mm film format, including lighting, cinematography, sound recording, and editing. The course includes an introduction to digital non-linear editing, and examines the differences between film and video.
Please note that Department Chair Scott Higgins will be handling POI requests during pre-registration, but is not the instructor for this course. |
