| Section:

|
With the fall elections as our backdrop, this course will examine the style and structure of American campaigns. We will consider longstanding debates and current controversies in the academic study of elections. We will analyze the key players in federal elections -- voters, candidates, parties, interest groups, and the press -- and the ways these groups interact to influence the outcome and meaning of elections in the United States. Students will also engage in research into elections at the federal or state level. |
