Newspaper and magazine articles, essays, and movies. Students should have Nelson's JAPANESE-ENGLISH CHARACTER DICTIONARY, a basic Japanese-Japanese dictionary, and a good Japanese-English dictionary.

Examinations and Assignments: Frequent written assignments in Japanese, quizzes on vocabulary and Kanji, midterm and final examinations. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Students who have not taken JAPN217 will be required to take a placement test. |
