MB&B 208
Fall 2005
Section: 01
Certificates: Informatics and Modeling, Molecular Biophysics

This course is a comprehensive survey of the molecules and molecular mechanisms underlying biological processes. The biomacromolecules--DNA, RNA and proteins--will be analyzed critically to emphasize the principles that define their structure, function and interactions. Molecular information from viral, procaryotic and eucaryotic systems will be discussed with regard to topics such as DNA replication, genome organization, gene rearrangements, transcription, translation, regulation of gene activity, cellular differentiation and tumorigenesis.
