Topic: HISTORICAL CONTEXTS AND THEORIES OF INDONESIAN MUSIC The seminar examines the contexts, theories, and performance of Indonesian music as they are precipitated by historical events, such as trade, religious conversion, colonialism, and nationalism. A portion of the course is devoted to workshops, including instruction on the performance of gamelan and vocal music. |
