Topic: Music, Politics, and Culture This course examines current discussions in post-colonial culture studies. Students will examine the ways in which political and cultural identities have been promoted, diluted, or manipulated by composers and marketers of music in the 20th-century. Students will have the opportunity to contribute readings and listening to class discussions. This course will survey a diverse set of repertoire - classical, jazz, pop music, and world music.
