The Ebony Singers will be a study of African American religious music through the medium of performance. The areas of study will consist of traditional gospel, contemporary gospel, spirituals, and hymns in the African American tradition. The members of the group will be chosen through a rigorous audition (with certain voice qualities and characteristics.) |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
Students are required to perform in all performances. Students must audition and be accepted as a part of the ensemble. Auditions will take place at the first class from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m., 003 Rehearsal Hall. Participants must have a quality voice, a melodic vocal sound and the ability to read music. Interested students should attend the audition at the first class. First-year students are excluded. Undergraduates may take this course up to two times for a letter grade and up to four times for credit towards graduation. |
