This choral ensemble welcomes members of both Wesleyan and Middletown communities and is devoted to performance of standard choral literature from all eras, both accompanied and a cappella. All members of the choir are expected to have satisfactory music reading skills. Solo and leadership opportunities will be provided for advanced singers. |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments: The professor invites you to sign up for a brief, informal, meet-and-greet audition prior to the first rehearsal. There are no specific requirements for the audition; we will simply go through several warm-up exercises to determine the range and flexibility of your voice (a placement audition). If none of the times available fit into your schedule, please, DO ATTEND the first rehearsal anyway (we will jump right into singing!) AND make an individual appointment with me for a later date. Monday, January 27th. Audition locations: 8:00am-noon --- Rehearsal Halls 003 1:30pm-4:00pm --- Green Room (Crowell Hall, back stage)
First rehearsal: 4:30-6:00pm, Crowell Hall
End-of-the-year concert date (set in stone, must attend): Saturday, May 3rd, dress rehearsal at 5:00pm, performance at 8:00pm. Wesleyan University Orchestra and Concert Choir present Borodin's "Polovtzian Dances with Choir" from "Prince Igor"
There will be another choir-only performance in April, date TBD, depending on group's progress.
This course may be may be repeated. Undergraduates may take this course up to two times for a letter grade and up to four times for credit towards graduation. |
