Rehearsals will combine intensive concert preparation with occasional readings of works not scheduled for performance. Open to all members of the Wesleyan community, this course may be taken for credit or noncredit. It may also be repeated for credit.

Essential Capabilities: Designing, Creating, and Realizing, Intercultural Literacy
Designing, creating, and realizing: The course teaches students primarily to perform, but also to discuss and analyze this specific music. Emphasis will be on the original design and presentation of certain genres and styles. A concert at the end of the semester will be part of the assignments.

Intercultural Literacy: By studying music from different nationality, ethnic group, or historical period, students will gain knowledge of cross-cultural encounter; hence promoting a comparative reflection.
