The Wesleyan University Orchestra performs music from all periods of music history, featuring classical repertoire alongside film score arrangements, contemporary works, and student compositions.
Rehearsals will combine intensive concert preparation with occasional readings of works not scheduled for performance. Open to all members of the Wesleyan community, this course may be taken for credit or noncredit. It may be repeated two times for a grade and up to four times for credit. Additional semesters will be recorded as Audit. |

Examinations and Assignments: Concerts each semester. Mandatory attendance at all concerts and rehearsals. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: The WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY ORCHESTRA will hold INFORMAL (nevertheless, REQUIRED) AUDITIONS (play what you like!) for all orchestral instruments, EXCEPT harp and percussion, on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2013 or by appointment. Highlights of the 2013-2014 season will include Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, readings of student compositions, choral collaborations, and community outreach opportunities.
