This course may be repeated for credit. |
The Wesleyan University Orchestra is a student-community ensemble that is open to everyone with a passion for orchestral literature. Prospective members should have an intermediate-to-advanced skill level of performance on an orchestral instrument. The orchestra performs music from all genres and time periods, ranging from the 18th-century "classics" to contemporary academic and popular compositions. The orchestra presents three concerts each year: a "masterworks" program in early December, often featuring one of the department's private lessons instructors or a guest artist as a soloist; a children's concert in early March; and the Student Concerto Competition concert in early May. The orchestra occasionally collaborates with the Wesleyan Concert Choir. For more information about the orchestra visit: https://orchestra.site.wesleyan.edu/ |
