Examinations and Assignments:
Two papers, three graded mini-papers, and numerous short writing assignments. Participation, in-class and/or on-line, is required and will form part of the final grade. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
No prior knowledge of China or philosophy is assumed. Careful reading of each day's assignments and participation and performance in these areas will affect grades.
This course fulfills the "Historical Traditions" requirement for the Religion Department major.
Students with advanced knowledge of Chinese may also be interested in CHIN 351, "Classical Chinese Philosophy: Chinese Lab," an optional 0.5-credit course that is open to students enrolled in PHIL 205. |
