Susan Carey, THE ORIGIN OF CONCEPTS, Edouard Machery, DOING WITHOUT CONCEPTS, and other readings.

Examinations and Assignments: Two papers. Students will also be expected to take turns leading seminar discussions and to read and comment upon one another's work. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: THIS YEAR, THE COURSE TOPIC WILL EXPLORE THEORIES OF THE NATURE OF CONCEPTS IN PHILOSOPHY AND PSYCHOLOGY.
This is an advanced interdisciplinary seminar. Ideally, students will have taken at least one previous course in philosophy and one in psychology. However, majors in philosophy, SISP or any of the cognitive sciences are welcome to enroll. |
