This course is the first term of a general physics course with calculus. The focus is on Newtonian dynamics and its ramifications for mechanics and heat. An objective of this course is to go beyond a conceptual understanding of the material and to develop the ability to achieve precise, quantitative solutions to examples illustrating the physics being studied.
