This course is an introduction to human behavior and psychological development focusing on infancy and childhood. We will examine theory and research pertaining to physical, social, and cognitive development, with emphasis on cognitive development.

Essential Capabilities: Information Literacy
Students will examine critical issues in child development, with an emphasis on understanding how knowledge about child development is generated and how it can be applied to real-world issues such as education, child-care policy, and cross-cultural understanding.
