This course is an introduction to human behavior and psychological development focusing on infancy and childhood. We will examine theory and research pertaining to physical, social, and cognitive development, with emphasis on cognitive development. |

Interpretation Interpretation: Students will learn to interpret evidence and evaluate claims bearing on key questions in developmental psychology through exposure to contemporary debates in the field.

Note about the optional textbook: The second edition is better than the first, but the first is adequate and can be obtained much less expensively. Copies will be made available on reserve at the library. Textbook chapters will not be assigned or tested on the exams, and the textbook is not required reading. The textbook can be a useful resource for students who like to supplement learning from lecture with a textbook. |
