This advanced seminar will explore contemporary psychological theories and multidisciplinary empirical research of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Using eating disorders as an example, we will study how culture, familial factors, and personal vulnerability contribute to risk for psychiatric disorders. |

Class participation and discussion, small group project & presentation, book/film critique assignment, and final literature review or research proposal paper. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
Students must have completed previous coursework in psychology and be familiar with research methods. Completion of PSYC250, PSYC251, or PSYC269 is recommended. This course is designed for students with an interest in pursuing graduate programs in clinical psychology or related fields. Students will need to submit a written explanation indicating related coursework/experience and discussing why they are interested in taking the course. |
