The purpose of the seminar is to help senior sociology majors develop their senior essay projects by introducing them to the conceptual challenges and practical problems of sociological research. The seminar meetings will be devoted primarily to helping students advance their own research projects. |
Essential Capabilities:
Writing This course requires students to write a literature review and a rough draft of the senior essay and to engage in substantial revision before submitting the final version.

Examinations and Assignments: Weekly research explorations plus literature review, research proposal, research project (multiple drafts), oral presentation, regular participation and perfect attendance. The final paper will be a completed senior essay. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Students must be Sociology majors working on senior essays; no other majors will be accepted. Attendance is required. |
