This course is the continuation of SPAN101, though students may place directly into 102 via the Wesleyan Language Placement Exam. The course further develops basic language skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking) and incorporates readings and media from a variety of sources, allowing students to explore the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. |

Major readings Dorwick et al., PUNTOS DE PARTIDA, 2024 release and its online workbook CONNECT. Purchase of CONNECT includes e-book. Most economical access via "Inclusive Access" program using link in class Moodle. (Same materials for SPAN 101).

Examinations and Assignments:
This class meets with instructor 3 times a week, plus once a week with a TA (to be scheduled). Frequent written and oral assignments and evaluation. Daily attendance to class required and participation in the target language is expected. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
SPAN102 is the continuation of SPAN 101, together designed as a year-long course. Completion of SPAN 102 (or SPAN 103) or evidence of appropriate level will be required for Intermediate Spanish (111-112). Students can place into SPAN 102 (similar to 103) by the Wesleyan Online Placement Test. |
