This intermediate language course places continued emphasis on the development of receptive and productive language skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking), with a strong cultural component. The sequence SPAN111 and SPAN112 seeks to expand students' active and passive knowledge of vocabulary and grammar while developing more fully their writing and speaking skills. Students gain experience in using different registers of Spanish, from informal to formal. |

Examinations and Assignments: Frequent written and oral assignments from textbook. Written quizzes, a midterm and an end-of-semester written exam. Plus, a face-to-face interview with the professor. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: This course is intended for students who have completed SPAN 103, or have placed into SPAN 111 through the Wesleyan Online Placement test this year, or have a recent AP credit of 3. This is a required course sequence course; although a grade will be assigned at the end of the semester, credit will only be granted upon completion of SPAN112. Enrollment for Juniors and Seniors is contingent upon space availability during drop/add. |
