This course is designed to explore the actor's instrument--specifically, the vocal, physical, and imaginative tools necessary for the creative work of the actor. Students will examine the creative process practically and theoretically, through exercises, improvisation, psychophysical actions, and text work. The course explores approaches to and theories about acting that are rooted in the techniques of Konstantin Stanislavsky. |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments: To request the class, please submit your electronic Permission of Instructor request as soon as possible. Additionally, come to the Theater Department office to pick up an audition form to fill out and complete it before Monday, November 9th. Blank forms will be in an envelope on the door of the office, room #100 on the main floor of the theater building. A second envelope will be available to collect completed forms as well. Once you have submitted your audition form, you will be contacted with information about the audition process and enrollment in the class. If you are asked to audition, you will need to prepare a brief one-minute monologue (memorized) from any source.
