This course's goal is to help students understand the role of intellectual investigation and analysis in the creative process, thus preparing them to apply this knowledge to their work as actors, dramaturges, designers, and directors. For that, the course will analytically look at a range of playscripts and introduce some possible ways one can benefit from research. In short, students will be asked to think analytically, critically, and contextually about dramatic texts. |

Examinations and Assignments: Students are required to revise drafts of each assignment with a tutor at the Writing Workshop. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Special focus is placed on communication; students are expected to apply the fours modes of literacy (speaking, reading, writing and listening). It is your responsibility to schedule meeting times in advance. There is a link to the Writing Workshop at Wesleyan's Web page. I will not read papers that have not been revised with a writing tutor. |
