Acting II: Expanding Your Potential for Transformation
THEA 285
Spring 2027
Section: 01
This course may be repeated for credit.

This studio course will build upon the fundamentals taught in Acting I. We will explore ways to further develop relaxation, concentration, and the imagination. The aim is to expand our potential for transformation, so we have the versatility to embody a wide range of characters and enter richly diverse worlds and performance styles. Improvisation, scene study, and text analysis rooted in the principles of Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, and Sanford Meisner will be emphasized as we score our texts. Material will traverse both classical and contemporary plays, as well as an on-camera module on how acting technique translates across mediums. This course counts towards the Theater Arts category for the THEA major.
