This course will introduce students to the history, basic principles, and practical application of lighting design through lecture, discussion, demonstration, and practical application. Students will develop a deeper understanding of the methodology and applications of light in storytelling, which will help them communicate with collaborators. |

Students will be graded on participation, one practical design, one theoretical design, and one research presentation. |

Admission to studio, performance, project and tutorial courses in theater is at the discretion of individual instructors, who take into account estimated talent, experience and the need to form balanced and effective working ensembles. |
