This course in short fiction is for people who have already had an introduction to fictional technique and, preferably, an additional course in creative writing. Students will generate and engage in their own writing projects. |

Major Readings:
Stories and novels by Caryl Phillips, Annie Proulx, JM Coetzee, Michael Ondaatje, Jim Harrison, Zadie Smith, Jennifer Egan, and various others.

Examinations and Assignments:
Students will submit 2 original stories and 1 revision to the workshop. They will complete 5-6 shorter writing assignments. They will complete a final project and lead a group discussion. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
Students must have taken Techniques of Fiction or Nonfiction before taking this course. |
