Major Readings:
Stories by some of the masters - Chekhov, Hemingway, de Maupassant, Poe - and by many American contemporaries, including Denis Johnson, Amy Bloom, Tobias Wolff, Jhumpa Lahiri, Junot Diaz, Mary Gaitskill, and Antonya Nelson.

Examinations and Assignments: Several short exercises in various elements of fiction and two short stories. Attendance at every class required. |
