This course may be repeated for credit. |
In this dance and technology repertory course, students will collaborate with the instructor to create and perform a multimedia dance work. In addition to improvising and learning choreographed movement material, students will create video content to be mixed with live-feed video in performance. We will look for ways that projected video environments can support and extend our movement exploration of the body-nature-emotion relationships found in poems by Stephen A. O'Connell set to music by Richard Schenk. We will be collaborating with student dancers and musicians from Connecticut College for the final performances. Students will gain skills in improvisation, performance, and videography/editing. Students with experience with/strong interest in movement and performance are encouraged to take the course. No previous video or "technology" experience is required. |
