Wesleyan Ensemble Singers (W.E.S.)

Wesleyan Ensemble Singers is a choral ensemble of select singers dedicated to the performance of challenging choral works written since the 19th Century, as well as choral music accompanied by orchestra. Selection of singers through audition. Excellent vocal and reaading skills are required.

Essential Capabilities: Designing, Creating, and Realizing, Intercultural Literacy
Designing, creating, and realizing: The course teaches students primarily to perform, but also to discuss and analyze this specific music. Emphasis will be on the original design and presentation of certain genres and styles. A concert at the end of the semester will be part of the assignments.

Intercultural Literacy: By studying music from different nationality, ethnic group, or historical period, students will gain knowledge of cross-cultural encounter; hence promoting a comparative reflection.
