This course will offer a history of Western music from the early Middle Ages to the present day. Students will be introduced to musical elements, terminology, major musical style periods, their composers and representative works. They will relate course content to art, architecture and literature of the periods, as well as major economic and historical events. Concentrated listening will be required to increase music perception and enjoyment. |
