Students will learn both traditional and contemporary instrumental pieces of Chinese music, as well as different regional styles. The ensemble will present a concert at the end of each semester. Attendance for the class is mandatory. |

| Examinations and Assignments: Weekly exercises and mandatory one hour TA session, concert presentation at the end of semester. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Permission of instructor is needed for the course. A rudimentary sense of pitch and rhythm is required. Interested students should attend the first class for auditions. A list of those students accepted in the course will be posted the following day.
Undergraduates may take this course up to two times for a letter grade and up to four times for credit towards graduation. |
