This course covers Japan's economic history, structure, policy, and performance from the mid-19th century to the present. We will use economic tool to analyze topics such as the industrialization of Japan, prewar instability, Japan's industrial policy, and Heisei Recession, etc. It additionally covers the analysis of political institutions that affect the economic policy making. |
