This course provides students with an overview of economies in East Asia. In particular, the emphasis is placed upon the various economic policies that were used by the governments in the region in the context of rapid economic growth in East Asia. We will also examine the causes and consequences of the East Asian financial crisis. Toward the end of the course, we will study economic issues specifically related to the People's Republic of China. |
