This course will focus on the psychology of judgment and decision making. The aims of this course are to explore theories of judgment and decision making and to compare these theories with descriptive data drawn from experiments in cognitive psychology, social psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral economics. In the process, we will think about decision making in a variety of domains, as well as ways of improving decision making. |
Essential Capabilities:
Information Literacy Students will learn how to research and to write about topics in this field, drawing on a variety of information databases, and learning how to evaluate the quality, methods, and relevance of difference sources.

Additional Requirements and/or Comments: This is an upper level seminar in Psychology. Permission will be given first to students who have taken a relevant Column 1 Psychology course (Cognitive Psychology, Memory, Sensation and Perception, or Cognitive Neuroscience), next to students who have taken another relevant breadth course (e.g., Social Psychology or Developmental Psychology), and next to students with related interests (e.g., Economics, Government, or Biology). Students will be admitted on a rolling basis during browsing period. At the time permission is requested, an email should be sent to the instructor indicating student year, major (if declared), and course background. |
