This seminar is required for all senior sociocultural anthropology majors who intend to write honors theses and very strongly recommended for those writing senior essays. It is designed to enable students to pursue individual research projects in a group context and with attention to debates on the nature of anthropological interpretation. |

Examinations and Assignments: A weekly research journal, class presentations, literature review, project abstract, and draft of a thesis chapter or essay by the end of the semester. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: This course substitutes for and should be taken in place of a fall semester thesis/essay tutorial (ANTH409). |
