The seminar course for E&ES seniors covers the evolution of the earth as a whole and its origin within the context of the solar system. Students will read, discuss, and write about large-scale processes in earth and environmental sciences. Special emphasis will be placed on topics that relate to the E&ES Senior Seminar Field Course in Death Valley, CA (E&ES398). |

Readings will consist of seminal papers, review articles, and selected book chapters.

Examinations and Assignments: Grades will be based upon presentations, written reviews, and class participation. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: E&ES 398 is an optional field course that takes place in January following the class section. Students who elect to take the field course should register for E&ES 398 in the following spring semester. |
