This seminar-style capstone course for E&ES seniors focuses on career-building and improving scientific research skills by completing an original research project. In groups, students will develop original, field-based research projects, write a proposal, and complete the project. The goal of the course is to help students transition to independent, professional scientists. |

Examinations and Assignments: Grades are based on oral presentations, writing assignments, a group research proposal, field exercises, project reports, and class participation. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: In fall 2022, this 1.5 credit class will concentrate on New England field areas. The fieldwork will include a few optional weekend field trips; participation in at least one is expected. The faculty will work with students to find the most suitable time for project work, but there will be designated class time. |
